Skandasramam

The world 'Ashram' connotes a space for private withdrawal, for serene personal contemplation and meditation, a place to which one can withdraw to seek all things spiritual. The Chennai Om Shree Skandashram is all of this and more. Established under the auspices of His Holiness Srimath Sadhguru Santhananda Swamigal, the ashram at the moment has been consecrated with beautiful status of special Gods and Goddesses.

It is the duty each one of us to cheer up a man who is in distress; encourage a man when he is dispirited, wipe the tears of the affected; remove the sorrow in a man by loving word, make a man smile when he is in despair; these are all different forms of charity.

O men!
Spread your hands to embrace others. Increase fellow feelings and love for all, so that your limited circle of selfish life may transform into a straight line. Advance, advance and be progressive, till you leave this transitory world and its affairs far behind.

As a man thinks, so he becomes. We should therefore increase our circle of oneness to the greatest possible extent, in order to increase our resulting collective strength. When our unity or oneness with the universe is complete in thoughts, words and deeds, our acts become the acts of nature or god and we develop unlimited power strength and authority. It however depends upon the intensity of our conviction of the truth of universal unity.

Strength is the very elixir of national life. This strength is not violence or Himsa Compassion or Ahimsa is the protection of all living beings and destruction of wicked elements. Remember! It is not the horse, not the elephant and never never the tiger but the goat, which is weak that is, offered in sacrifice.

Lord Krishna having spared no efforts to bring about a just settlement and avoid the internecine war, when it became inevitable Declared that

I AM THE POWER OF DESTRUCTION,
COME TO SLAY THESE MEN HERE! EVEN WITHOUT THEE
ALL THE WARRIORS STANDING ARRAYED HOSTILE RANK
SHALL BE DESTROYED.
